The party was in the morning, a nice change, so we had the rest of the day to do our own thing. That meant hauling Travis' old office stuff from B&V to the new office his new company just moved into. He's waited to move most of his stuff since he knew his new company was moving into a new space. The new office? It's smack downtown and happens to be the old Amoco building where my dad worked back in the 90's. It's in a great spot for mass transit and Travis has the whole system worked out so commuting is nearly a breeze. Still longer than the 3 mile drive on surface streets, but he doesn't chafe at it anymore.
F and I had a good time seeing his new space and helping to arrange his new furniture. F made great use of the stapler and some recycled paper while we did boring things like arrange notebooks. It's a nice space and the office as a whole had a lot of interesting (and beautiful) common spaces for collaboration and breaks. Like a lot of new offices the cubicals are on the exterior so they get lovely light and lots of windows and the offices are in the interior so they get good ambient light from the surrounding open spaces. It makes for a very bright and cheery office, especially since in this particular space the cubicals are very open and low.
Sunday evening a stomach bug hit poor F like a ton of bricks. I was up until nearly 4am being Mom-nursemaid after which I totally collapsed into bed and told Travis it was his turn. Luckily Monday was a holiday from school so he didn't miss anything, but he's home again today recovering. The fever finally broke this morning and he's eaten and drunk without throwing up, a nice change. I expect he'll bounce back this afternoon after a nap and some more food. Now I just need to catch up on laundry, lots of sheets and towels to un-stinky!
