Backyard Battleground

We have war unfolding in our backyard and I'm not sure who is going to win. So far no blood has been shed and it's still entertaining to watch. FFM hoots out loud, calls the plays, and makes sure I come running to catch the big ones. The contenders? Magpies vs. Squirrels.

It's hard to catch them on film, they're durned fast. The Magpies chase the Squirrels along the fence and up the trees (sometimes all the way to the top of our at least 30ft pine) and the Squirrels nip and grab at the Magpies. I suspect this spring fling may go on for a while since the Magpies seem to be building a nest nearby.
